Serial number photoline6/27/2023 This lens is not the only sigma bargain floating around. That aside, optically it appeared to be sharper than the 17-35 24mm. So I can say (from the test I examined anyway) that it preformed similar to the Tilt-Shift however lens flair was noticeably better controlled with both Canon lenses. I have done some comparisons with the lens to the Canon TS-E 24mm f/3.5 L Tilt-Shift and Canon EOS EF 17-35/2.8 L. I did notice however on APS-H that it's corner sharpness gets better at f/4. it's still sharp, is great for macro work and works better on an APS-C sensor than APS-H or full frame at that aperture because the frame is smaller & is more centered on the sweet spot of the lens. I`ll see how i like it when i shoot some slide using it with my eos5 :) It would be a great lens im sure if i could change the aperture, but its no big deal if i cant :) I think tho only being able to use this lens at f/2.8 on my 40D is what i like about this lens, makes you play around with focus and composition more ? Kodak DCS Pro SLR/c Full frame, 13.5 mega pixels 1.7 fps (speculative)Ĭanon EOS D30: APS-C, 3 mega pixels 3 fpsĬanon EOS D60: APS-C, 6.3 mega pixels 3 fps However re-chipping is possible for Konica /Minolta /Sony and that the Quantaray Tech 10 version has been reported as working on newer Canon digital bodies such as the 20D & 30D.Ĭanon EOS DCS 3 (Kodak EOS DCS-3) APS-C, 1.3 mega pixels 2.7 fpsĬanon EOS DCS 1 (Kodak EOS DCS-1) APS-C, 6 mega pixels 2 fpsĬanon EOS DCS 5 (Kodak EOS DCS-5) APS-C, 1.5 mega pixels 2.2 fpsĬanon EOS D2000 (DCS 520) APS-C, 2.0 mega pixels 3.6 fpsĬanon EOS D6000 (DCS 560) APS-C, 6.29 mega pixels 1 fpsĬanon EOS 1D: APS-H, 4.15 mega pixels 8 fpsĬanon EOS 1Ds: Full frame, 11.1 mega pixels 3 fps Other than that I do know all the Canon cameras that the AF lenses will work with but not all the Nikon or Konica /Minolta /Sony models. My mate has a 24mm with an aperture ring on it so he can use it a any aperture, does any one know what model has an aperture adjust ring ?Īs far as I know, the aperture adjust ring is only on the manual focus versions or possibly an option with Nikon & Minolta. I have a super wide mkII, i can use it on my digi only at f/2.8 which is cool :) You can wait 30 seconds for this error to clear or turn the power off and back on.Ĭhild of Enki edited this topic ages ago. Communications between the camera and lens contacts is faulty. doing so will result in the following error message On Canon cameras "Err 01. You cannot fire a shot if the aperture is not wide open to F2.8. Sigma is no longer offering this service unless the serial number is 3001001 or above.Ī lens that has not been re-chiped will function on digital bodies however the user will encounter the following problems.ġ. Re-chipping for Sony & Minolta digital bodies. The AF lenses are compatible with most film cameras that accept Auto-focus lenses however unless they have been re-chipped they will only work properly on a few early Digital camera bodies Quantaray Tech-10 24mm f/2.8 AF: Same slow Loud Grindy Motor as the Sigma Super wide II but this lens is Canon EOS Elan 7 compatible which means it will likely work with many of the newer cameras. Sigma 24mm F/2.8 AF Super-wide II: Internal motor now uses only gears (which makes it quite loud) & in most cases it's BIOS chip has not been updated to support modern day digital cameras.Ĥ. Sigma 24mm F/2.8 AF Super-wide: Internal motor uses a rubber band to connect it to it's gears which makes it a little quieter but it's BIOS chip has not been updated to support most digital cameras of today.ģ. Many believe its originally a Lieca design.Ģ. Sigma 24mm F/2.8 Super-wide: Same optical construction as the others but lacks auto-focus. If you have one of the lenses or you're considering one then you will probably want to know what differences there are if any.ġ.
